Well I personally can not claim that these are the best of what Dresden has to offer because I have nothing to compare them to and I have only been here for a short month. However, according to the local friends I have met, they claim these are the best places for: 

Best bacon cheeseburger in the city: KochBox, Neustadt 

Best döner in the city: BABOS, Neustadt

As a foodie, I will try everything once. I must say, I trust the locals for their food opinions cause they know what's good. & thus far, can't stay they have made me think otherwise.
