Paris: get lost

2/27/2015

Paris, France

With my traveling buddy by my side.
However before jet-setting to Paris, off to Berlin for the day. The city of history and delicious currywurst. It was a short and sweet stay but now

Up, up and away... to the city of love otherwise known as, PARIS!

Passports - check!

Peace out Berlin, you've been a slice
Jet-setters.
After a not-so long flight, and getting lost within the streets of Paris in the middle of the night. We finally arrived and just in luck, the beautiful weather came with us.
View from our flat.

First stop: worldwide famous landmark

The Eiffel Tower.

Eiffel Tower - Paris, France.
Herds of people come from all over the world to see this magnificent landmark where you wait hours in line to get to the top. I am sure I encountered more tourists than the French itself.
Fortunately, we did not have to wait hours in line maybe because we chose to climb the stairs rather than taking the lift. Yeah, I know what you thinking... why the stairs over the lift?!
Partially its significantly cheaper and not to mention, the view is worth the climb. & it was nice to walk through the architecture of the famous structure. Crazy to think that they once petition to take this down after the city fair in 1889. Regardless, happy to see the petition did not go through.

Hello ant-like people.
My favourite part about traveling is getting lost within the streets and alleyway of the city. Exploring the city by day and night. As for Paris, I think it is more beautiful as the sun sets and the moon comes out. Paris itself becomes more alive, the streets empty out with tourists.

Second stop: Arc de Triomphe

Of course, macaron!
Paris, you are more beautiful by night and looking pretty good in the palm of my hand.

Paris by night.

Third stop: Sacre Coeur

It quite the hike to get to this beautiful place, but all worth it. Where the streets are fill with street artists with canvas in hand or already painted artworks. The view is breath-taking.

& with the many cute cafés, there is no way you can walk by without wanting to stop for a bite. It takes quite the will power to do so.

Along the way, made a stop to see the famous Moulin rouge. The home to the can-can dance.

 & fellow Amelie fans!
You must recognize this café. If not, shame on you!
After having watched Amelie numerous time, it was quite surreal to see this café up close and personal. Not exact to the film but comes pretty close. However, it was packed with people lining up to order expensive coffee and baked goods.

Alexander pont III bridge.

Fourth stop: Famous glass pyramid, Louvre.

First Sunday of every month is FREE museum day so just imagine the crowd. Fortunately, we got led to another entrance skipping the massive line so instead of waiting in line for hours, it was only a short 30 minutes until we made our way into the beautifully architected museum.
From the moment you step foot into the massive building, it takes you away with the carefully sculptured staircases and well-detailed ceilings.

Back to Berlin.
Paris, despite your over priced coffees and beers. You made up for it with your delicious baguettes, macaroons and of course, the many beautiful views!
Apart of my heart is with you.
Until next time.
